Vis-à-vis, a design exploration jointly initiated by JIANZE and studiososlow since 2023, releases two new products this autumn/winter season. With a minimalist geometric language, diverse and approachable materials, and a relaxed, soothing atmosphere, they form a design dialogue through formal echoes, becoming vibrant design objects integrated into daily life.
The inspiration for Joint comes from exploded-view diagrams of industrial components. Through clever design, rational mechanical logic is transformed into a warm, familiar object for the home. Metal connectors replace conventional, bulky joining methods, making the solid panels appear to float in mid-air—lightweight yet full of tension.
To achieve Joint's unique design, JIANZE spent a year developing custom fittings, ultimately overcoming technical challenges to achieve precise panel alignment and an overall clean, sharp form.
Evolving from the interplay of solid and void in JIANZE's brand symbol "0," the Side by Side Table extracts the square and the circle to explore how different facets can achieve visual balance through an inclusive posture.
Three rectangular panels are designed with non-enclosed gaps, creating a visual illusion of overlapping surfaces forming a solid volume. This ensures structural stability while allowing the space to "breathe." This makes Side by Side not just a table, but also a highly recognizable art installation.
The metal base, side panels, and connectors are finished in the same matte paint color, creating harmony between different materials and shapes and ensuring design consistency down to the smallest detail.
With a 1.1-meter diameter, this compact round table is particularly suitable for small apartments, individuals, or couples. It meets daily household needs while enhancing space efficiency. The single-leg central support frees up more legroom, allowing for more comfortable seated conversation and enabling highly efficient use of compact spaces.
